LM-2 logging with EvoScan?
Was about to order an LM-1 from a UK supplier, but when I went to place my order I found it was out of stock!
I have managed to find a well priced LM-2 online, but can you log the LM-2 in EvoScan 2.6 without any hassle?
Cheers!
EDIT: Doesn't matter, managed to find another UK supplier of the LM-1 that actually has them in stock.

you can log it, but unfortunately evoscan doesnt support usb output/input, so you will have to connect using serial output on LM2. To do so, you will have to buy rs-232 (db9) cable, com port / usb adapter (or you will need a laptop with com port) , cut it and wire it to serial output of LM2 (1 wire goes to TX, 1 to RX and the 3rd one to ground), all this hassle because innovate made DB9 output on LM2, but they dont supply the cable.

Cheers for the info mate, but managed to get a new LM-1 ordered, so no need to mess around splicing cables.

They do have cables
* LM-2
* 3812 LM2 Serial patch cable
* 3746 Innovate Serial Cable
* 2.5mm Stereo Coupler (female on both ends)
* USB to Serial Adapter (preferrably - KeySpan)
or you can do
* LM-2
* 3812 LM2 Serial patch cable
* Acroname Serial -> USB (around 28$) w/ harness
1) Hook the wire that goes to the sleeve to GND (black)
2) Hook the wire that goes to the ring to to RXD (green I believe)
3) Hook the wire that goes to the tip to TXD (yellow I believe)
If it doesn't work, 2 and 3 (hooking the ring to TXD (yellow), and hooking the tip to RXD (green).
Should work. It output ISP2 (Innovate Serial Packet #2)
Quote:
Another USB Option, that's even easier to use

1) Cut off the female section of the 4-pin extension cable (leave the male section of the connector alone - it plugs into the the dongle).
2) Connect the wires
3) Heat Shrink tube the electronics..
Note the ORIENTATION of the cable when plugging it into the dongle

If you follow this picture and positioned the dongle sideways, the black wire should be on top and the yellow on the bottom.

well, they dont supply the cable from LM2 to Com Port/ usb adapter. You need to buy 2 cables, cut them, weld them and etc, also when I contacted Innovate, they didnt have them in stock. So it was much easier to go to the local shop and buy RS-232 (DB9) cable and connect it directly to LM2

Per the romraider forums - the LM-2 uses the same ISP2 packet as the LC-1 (not the LM-1)..
So if you get the
a) LM-2
b) 3812 Innovate LM-2 serial patch cable
c) 2.5mm stereo coupler (female on both ends - check Radio Shack)
d) 3746 Innovate Serial Cable
e) USB->Serial Adapter
Should work with EVOSCAN as long as you choose the LC-1 as your device.

To summarize LM-2 works with the parts from the previous post.
LM-2 (MTS out) => patch cable => joiner => serial program cable => usb-serial adapter => laptop
Let me know if I can help with anything else.

Definitely works with RomRaider with the LC-1 parsing code, i'm sure it will work with EvoScan (when you choose LC-1 as the wideband, not LM-1).

I log with my LM2 by running the output directly into the ecu. I had to buy some ecu pins to do this of course.

What pin you use?
What connection do you use between LM2 and ECU?

I do not want to use LM-2 as a permanent connection because LM-2 must be connected at 12V always when the car is running.
Otherwise O2 can be damaged.
I intend to order tail clamp in order to log AFR for my car because I do not have a cat.
I was reading that the clamp readings are similar comparing with the bung location before the car.

I followed the directions in this thread.
how-to: Log AFR from the LC-1 w/o a serial cable
I used the input/output cable that came with my lm-2. This is the connector and these are the two wires that you use. One wire goes to the ecu and the other is grounded.
