I think your math is correct. After looking at OMNI scaling formula again, there is a 0.5 psi positive offset in the reading, so 0.5 psi has to be subtracted to get the actual pressure. I'll get around to updating the first post soon.

So I'm right in assuming the 10bit ADC is linear in the 0-5v range and the MUT value is that with the 2 LSBs shifted out?

Yep, it is linear, and the 8 bit value is created using shll2. :-)

i have a question.

i have the jdm map now and am going to the omni. i got everything in ecuflash all setup. but it says to add this

<DataListItem DataLog="Y" Color="" Display="OMNI MAP" LogReference="OMNIMAP" RequestID="38" Eval="FORMULA HERE" Unit="psig" MetricEval="" MetricUnit="" ResponseBytes="1" GaugeMin="-15" GaugeMax="35" ChartMin="-15" ChartMax="35" ScalingFactor="1" Notes=""/>

to evoscan. my question is if i did this already for the jdm map is it the same as the onmi or do i have to remove the jdm one and reinstall the omni??

Dan, clone it and alter the scaling if you log cars that might use the 3 bar.

MrFred, would it be possible to use this universal Omni 4Bar Map Sensor over http://www.omnipowerusa.com/product.asp?P_ID=158

And get it to work on a EDM Evo8 using Tephra's latest 96530706 ROM, instead of using the Evo specific, intake manifold map sensor?
And also have Evoscan log it in BAR.

Thx

Yes, that sensor will work fine. Same scaling as the Omni sensor with the Evo form factor.

So is the new equation 0.2369*x-(b-.5)

I maintain that the one I posted is actually closer (0.2340x - b + 0.5), but yeah.

Bump for this question...

I also have the Omni 3Bar Map sensor and want to know which scaling/formula I should be using.

The same as the JDM 3Bar?
The same as the GM 3Bar?
The same as the Omni 4Bar?

None of the above , if so, which one?

Thx
