i've read that some people are able to log for a while.. then suddenly not. i'm told that it helps to plug the usb cable into the SAME usb port each time so your settings don't change. does this make sense to anyone? does a computer change the settings when you plug it into a new usb port? kinda makes sense.

Most XP (and probably Vista) machines create a different virtual com-port when you plug into the different USB ports. This is actually a good thing in theory, but also keeps some people confused.
The manual for the UEGO specifies the COM transfer settings. If they aren't correct, it doesn't know how to properly communicate.

I finally got mine up and running perfectly with the help of some members here. I'm running Vista 32 bit, evoscan 2.6 with the 2.7beta download found in the evoscan/gps thread (page 56/57 i think), using the usb-serial cable from limitless. Obviously using the adapter sold by one the members on the forum( Fast Freddie). This was the only way I could get mine to log without the "freeze". On a side note, finally got map tracer to work also. WBD logging plus maptracer= ultimate fine tune. It's so nice to finally have everything working in harmony and logging all aspects of the vehicle. Talk about hours and hours of dealing with this and that- finally resolved. Tuning is fun, interesting, etc but when something isn't working correctly- PITA and very frustrating.
