VIII patch to reset fuel trims?
Would it be feasible to create a patch for the VIII guys to reset fuel trims via ECUflash or Evoscan instead of disconnecting the battery? This would be a very helpful mod! I am not a dissasembler and at most an intermediate user for both programs... If possible can the patch be available to the 006 and 0011 roms... I don't use map switching so I have no need for the 006 rom...

The IXs reset trims on a reflash, the VIIIs only reset when you pull power from the ECU.
I've always thought resetting the trims on a map switch (in tephra's modified ROMs) would be a reasonable thing to do, since presumably you're making a significant change with the switch.

I would think a variable could be changed that would force the ECU to boot up from the beginning the next time, clearing the trims.

If I have understood clearing of DTC completely, clearing CEL should reset fuel trims also, can you try sending MUT_FA, MUT_FC down the line, one of them should clear trims, cannot remember which one now, but both clear CEL, no harm testing them.

Mattjin can you test it?
i.e.
Send custom request FA
Send custom request FC
via EvoScan or via Custom Tab in MutMonitor.

Might give it a shot tomorrow. This will actually be very helpful with the LT trim discovery, saving me from disconnecting the battery each time.

I cleared a DTC code today and the trims got reset. After a 10 minute drive I cleared DTC with no codes and the trims did not reset again. I'm thinking trims only reset if a DTC is triggered off then cleared. This was on a 03 VIII.

Thanx, ^ this is what I wanted to be tested. So it seems we need a patch. I will try to find some easy way, if there is one.
