The main fan table also turns the A/C fan on under high temps, right?

I am ditching the full width radiator for a half-width and would like to use the A/C fan as my primary cooling fan and eliminate the main fan but retain ECU controlled cooling. I was thinking I could just change the main fan table under the A/C settings.

Or does the A/C column only refer to when the A/C switch is on, but does not represent the actual A/C fan?

From what I saw when finding the fan control, it is the duty of the main fan while A/C is on. It is something I didnt dive deeping into mostly because there were no problems with cooling, I was just interested to find the fan duty maps.

You can always set your main fans to not come on until the motor is much hotter, then let me know what temp the A/C fan comes on. This would make it much easier to find.

I may have found a setting where the thermo fan turns off above a certain rpm. Will test it tomorrow.

The A/C or condenser fan turns on even if the A/C is not running (so we shouldn't really call it an A/C fan). Those of us who have converted our cars to 8 ECUs use the A/C fan outputs to control both fans. The on and off temps are listed in the service manual. If I remember correctly, it turns on at higher temps than the radiator fan which is why I wanted the temp control for it.

so is there a vehicle speed setting over which the fans turn off?

No. It is all in the duty map.... you could always just set the higher speed maps to not turn on the fan until it is hotter.

I may have located the temp switch conditions for the A/C Condensor Fan. Testing tomorrow.

So how do these cells work for the A/C fan?

This is a pretty cool find although I don't quite understand how to use it. I through this in 94170005 and came up with the below thumbnail. Doesn't look like what was posted previously, which I'm assuming means the coding posted previously isn't compatible with this ROM.

I'm wondering if this would be able to be adjusted to allow the fan to run after the motor is turned off but, obviously still powered?

Honki, look a few posts above. They are the duty maps for the main fan for when the A/C is on.

Evo8dad, we are not writing code, we are just finding the functions that are already in there. Your address for the map is wrong, trying adding 2 to it.

Excuse my ignorance but, where should I add the 2??

Ah, so is there any way that we've yet found to control the "A/C fan" individually? Think I can just wire the A/C fan to the same wiring as the main fan without problems? (similar resistance, etc.?)

Main fans are PWM duty driven through a speed controller, the A/C fan is switch controlled. I am working on finding the temperature switch conditions for the A/C fan and hope to have an answer today.

Add 2 to the address you have for Thermo Fan Moving. When you right click it and select Edit, it is the Address at the top.

Do you have found the two ac fan bits to log them?

Ok I think I got it right now (does the attachment look right?).

I'm assuming that if I want the fan to stay running after the engine is turned off I would just set the moving to stationary setting at 0? This would leave the fan on until the car starts moving again? I have to play with this some but, I'm trying to understand how the tables have an effect on the fan.
