Need help tuning the idle with kelford 272's

hey guys, this past weekend i installed my kelfords finally. all i have on the car for bolt-ons is : aem intake, helix 3 inch dp, test pipe, 3 inch exhaust. i also have an evo ix bov on there too.

anyways, i'm having a hell of a time to get the idle to quite surging (not the lope) it hovers around like 950ish then jumps up to 1100ish for like a second or two. then drops back down and idles at 950ish for a little while, then back up to 1100. it keeps doing this, it kind of stops loping too when it gets up to 1100ish. it like smoothes out, then lopes down at 950.

another problem i'm having is my afr's are all over the place. it pretty much seems unpredictable. it goes anywhere from 12:1 to 17:1 then hovers around 14.4ish to 15.1. then goes all over the place again. (its even gotten as low as 11:1)

i have the idle timing island set to 7* what am i doing wrong? lol

Set your idle timing to +7 or even +8
Raise your base idle RPM from 850 to 950-1000 in all Desired IDLE RPM tables
Adjust the other portions of the IDLE tables up a bit too
Scale your MAF for the intake

You should idle like a champ.
NEVER touch the BISS screw ! !

Wow 7-9* timing at idle is a huge difference to my GSC 272 (14*). I have kelfords going is as well

Upping the ignition timing at idle will tame the idle a lot. Also, for a more consistent idle, make sure your timing is fairly smooth so it isn't jumping around a lot which would make the idle speed change a lot. More timing makes it want to idle faster.

it was jumping around quite a bit, i think alot of it has to do with my aem, and my maf scaling, i'm going to work on that a little more tomorrow, while adding some timing too. i've always had a little bit of a stalling issue with that intake, and the not smooth idle. but now since the cams suck so much vacuum it actually does stall. so i guess i'll go at it more tomorrow. hopefully its warm out

So outside the idle, how do the cams feel over the HKS?

i havent had hks cams so i couldnt tell you, but i'll hopefully find out soon when i start actually street tuning, i do like them, minus the few little problems i've been having since i installed them, not the cams themselves but since i changed stuff i'm just worried about everything, and every little noise is bothering me lol. i'm interested to see what my car does against my friends 05 with hks 280's. we have basically the same mods, minus his is an mr and his are 280's
