Once I am back to work (had back surgery) I plan on sending tephra, mr fred, bez and a couple other key people somthing so hell yeah I am willing to make a donation for this and some other features. I do like the cooperation and open source nature of the whole ecuflash community and would hope that the features would eventually be shared with the comunity. maybe make it available now to donors right away and release to the public/open source a month or 2 later

ok guys just getting a feel for this - rather than doing a fuel cut what if we retarded the ign timing a lot...

not as much as antilag - but just enough so that the engine wasn't increasing RPM's any more...

does anyone have an engine/mechanical input before I try this out... fuel cut is rather drastic and spark retard *might* be a better way of doing it.. so long as the engine doesn't increase RPM's...

actually scratch that - maybe leave that for another day - I don't really like playing with timing - lots of things to go wrong haha

ok so I think the best way to pick the revlimit is by using the current RPM (when the system is first engaged) and subtract 1500 (customisable) off it and use that as the RL...

thoughts?

What about doing it like Bez, where you use the current RPM and speed to calculate what gear you are in. Then using defined gear ratio's you calculate what RPM you need to be at in the next gear for your current speed. It sounds like more work but it might be worth it.

The problem with that approach is:

a) every car is different and thus ratios change ( ie different sized tyres etc etc )
b) if the clutch slips then again the calculation will be off...
c) if you dont shift at the right point the calculation will be off
d) its a lot of extra code hehe

I will give this way a go and see how it works out However if we find a GB switch that tells the ECU which gear its in then by all means...

This sounds cool, customizable subtraction and tps with clutch engaged!
