Must Read Before Using Software!!!

CAUTION

Changing ECU values improperly can result in catastrophic damage to an engine, personal injury and/or disabling your immobilizer key function. Unless you consider yourself an advanced tuner and know exactly the affect of each change, do not attempt to modify your ECU ROM. Also, carefully consider the legal and personal consequence if you decide to Flash a car you do not own.

SOFTWARE STATEMENT

Provided by b0ostedEV08

It is very important to read and understand the license agreement before using the software. Many of you maybe very anxious to use it and may fly through the installation and hit agree without reading the agreement but there are a few key points that need to be pointed out so as no one is to get confused.
In no way, shape, or form can you change the name of the software and present it as your own. The software is ECU Flash. This means you may not call it for example; E-Flash, X-Flash, M-Flash, or anything else you may think of. This software was developed by Colby at Tactrix and Jason at Mynes Performance. The three parts of the agreement below are very little to ask but very important to continue the evolution of the software.

Please respect those who worked hard to develop this software over the past year and use it with care.

Copyright © 2004-2006 openecu.org

This software is provided 'as-is', without any express or implied warranty. This software reads and modifies code and data for engine computers (ECUs). Improper use of this software or errors within the software itself can cause engine damage and/or render the vehicle's engine computer non-operational. Many ECUs can only be reflashed a limited number of times before the flash memory is no longer functional. Additionally, modification of your ECU's software will most likely void your drivetrain warranty from the manufacturer and violate emission control regulations in some regions. In no event will the authors be held liable for any damages arising from the use of this software.

This software allows you read code/data from ECUs which can potentially be subject to various copyright and intellectual property laws where you live. It is your responsibility to use (or not use) this software in adherence with these laws.

Permission is granted to anyone to use this software for any purpose, including commercial applications, and to alter it and redistribute it freely, subject to the following restrictions:

1. The origin of this software must not be misrepresented; you must not claim that you wrote the original software. If you use this software in a product, an acknowledgment in the product documentation would be appreciated.

2. Altered versions must be plainly marked as such, and must not be misrepresented as being the original software.

3. This notice may not be removed or altered from any distribution.
