I put like 24k miles on a pair of Vans and the clutch pedal wore a nice hole through the sole.

Puma style shoes are definitely nice and comfy for driving a stick, though.

Drives: '03 Evo8, '91 Turbo Miata, HondaHelixScooter, '76 GMC RV

after 4yrs of MotorSportsRanch
it seems rediculous that I've never tried a pair of driving shoes, but
(other than never asking to borrow a pair for the day)

I've never been tempted because
it seems un-nerving to switch from my daily driving shoes
to something I'm not used to (especially-when increasing my speed/handling to critical situations)

I'm pretty good friends with Mark. Nice guy. I see him a lot when I'm running in Atlanta

Weird, I bought a pair of the alpinestars over the oakleys. Well, actually, to replace them. I've got a high top oakley, and mid top alpinestars. The alpinestars just have a better "shoe" portion. The top height didnt bother me. (well, except the high tops make me look like an f1 driver with the gp pro race suit hahaha)

Geez! Why don't you just wear some Timberlands to drive in?

If you've never driven in driving shoes, you don't know what you're missing.
