thanx bro. I'm totally new to cars so I need to know alot more than just driving it. Such as how the mechanical characteristic works and such. I know that owning this car is gonna be a pain. But I know what's coming ahead. So I'm educating myself slowly. It's not like I have alot of times on my hands to play with the car

Don't be too hard on yourself man...I had the same issues when I started with this car (and sometimes when I am too fast with the clutch I still do) what Oak said seems to work best for me...ease off the clutch while increasing the the gas at the same time.

I have the same problem myself with 2nd gear.
I kinda feel like a dick when I'm driving someone around cause they probably think "this dork can't drive".

every stick car goin from 1st to 2nd will get that boobing motin i know what you guys are talkin about. i have a front wheel drive ralliart. its the same with ever other vehicle. you just dont use first. you never you first only if you doin racing or want to get off the line fast, burnouts. that kinda stuff. you uslly when you come off a stop you would go into 2nd and drve normal. left off the clutch slow and bam it feel like your drivng an auto. try this hang a dangley thingfrom your rear view mirror soo it will swing around when your not driving smooth. you want the thing not to swing around. try it that how i learnt. this car is my first car and it a stick. just dont go into 1st use 2nd.

*EDIT* Oops, I didn't notice this thread is ancient when I wrote this
Try the following and see if it works for you: Shift as per normal, getting back on the gas at the same point as normal, however depress the clutch HALF as far as you normally would. If you are normally fully depressing the clutch to the mat between shifts you should avoid this. You only need to shift slightly past the point where you feel tension on the clutch, releasing enough load on the drivetrain momentarily to easily slip into gear.
I used to have a similar problem when I first started with a manual. Practice until you can feel out the correct clutch travel required to shift, it's usually quite short.
Also, in the low gears ease off the clutch slower, don't dump it between the 1st and 2nd shift as you would in higher gears.
Hope this helps!

i have act hdss clutch, it jerks even harder when u gun it, feels like whiplash. its just cuz 2nd gear is ur stronger gear from a roll. just think about it, when u drive it in 1st it pulls hard cuz its ur best gear, then u shift into 2nd which is def a strong gear so its gonna jerk the **** outta u, but for reg driving, i mastered on how to shift without jerking ur car all day, basically shift fast but learn to level the gas as u release.

I think oak2207 explained it best.
soon enough you will get it and you'll forget you ever asked this question. You just have to know what your doing wrong to correct it.
or maybe you won't get it. what do i know?

True that. The first part.

I notice that many people here is learning how to drive stick for the first time on the evo. My questions is how did you guys test drive and drive the car home without the knowledge of driving stick at the time. Did somebody help you test drive or drive the car home?

my problem is that sometimes i get and sometimes i don't, how do i know what i'am doing wrong? Am i releasing the clutch too fast, i get the jerk from 1st to 2nd and then to 3rd sometimes, but sometimes i get it? It doesn't happen when i drive normal but when i try to shift fast it jerks? But my tuner can do it without any jerking and he can do it fast.

My bro it home. Well, I don't how to explain this, but it just come natural. I mean shifting gear doesn't take a brainer to know how. it's just like counting frome 1-5. But first gear was a problem for me. Ever since I got the car I've only stalled it atleast 10 time. But the only thing that ticked me off is shifting to 2nd. Other than that, it's cool. It's not every car that does this. I tried driving my brother GSX and I drove it smootly everytime, so I don't know what my problem is. I tried to pay attention to it, but I just couldn't understand it. I felt like a dick everytime someone is riding with me. It's tempting to shift to 2nd.

wow, stalled it 10x?
I still can't master the 1-2 shift without the bump....so I'm going to try that no gas until after "connect" tip...i think that one would give more of a bump...I still think the key is RPM matching...but that means taking your eyes off the road and watching your meters....rpm matching in 1-2 is still not instinctial for me yet.
