Question When shifting into 2nd - seems to "lag"(not turbo) to apply power

I'm new to turbo and AWD, could be that I just don't know how to drive properly.

When I get on the car from 1st to 2nd it feels like it takes a sec for the power to transfer. This doesn't happen all the time. About 3 times in last month. Maybe I'm letting off the gas when shifting?
