Warranty covered????

Well, it started last week when I installed a utech just for launching purposes... I only did like 5 launches than come to find out 2 days later I found oil all over my driveway.... checked the oil filter to make sure hopefully it was that then I looked on the driverside and found a crack about 1/2 inch...... Well here is when I start freaking out becuase I dont feel like paying 2 grand to replace the whole thing..... by the way I bought the car a year ago at a toyota dealership got the warranty for 4 years/50,000 miles and covers all transmission problems.... went to a mitsh. dealership because the toyota warranty told me if i'd like I could bring it to them instead of a toyota dealarship..... so I brought it there any they told me it was internal poblem due to the crack like if i did'nt know that........ but anyways the question I am asking is DO YOU THINK THEY'LL FIND OUT HOW THIS HAPPEN?? that I abused it even though I spoke to the warranty guys and they said anything to do with transmmision is covered... What do you guys think??? mitsh. mechanics???

make your car look stock. no worn tires and make sure it doesnt look riced out. If your car looks stock you should be fine. they cant get you for adding parts, but they can get you for racing your car. With your upgrades you should be fine.

if they ask me about that could'nt I say I bough it like that...since they really have nothing stating that it was like that. I bought it used.... I left the turboxs utec... do you think they realize it and is it going to give it away that I was abusing it???? They did a diagnostic on the car... Do they ever touch the ecu???

I think if you really didn't want them to find out you wouldn't post it on one of the biggest mitsu evo forums on the net. whether that makes it right or wrong is ultimately up to you to live with, but if you don't want them to know, I wouldn't have said anything about it anywhere. If you don't want to break things, don't abuse them.

Come to find out it wasn't because of me launching..... It was actually a screw or piece of metal that got into my transmission and that was due to the transmission case cracking.... but I guess the toyota warranty does not want to cover it because its not a mechanical issue it was because a foreign dabrie was in it.... even though I think that is bull.... its just that they don't want to pay....so I got to read my contract again and see if there is anything on there that says warranty will not cover transmission if foreign debrie falls in it that I'll bring them to small clams court.... And the only reason I posted this was to get your input because the warranty is not under mitsh. so they have nothing to lose they'll actually be making money from the warranty of toyota.

generally, from my experience at a dealer, about the only thing i have SEEN to cause a trans case to crack is physical damage. not saying that some 1 in 1,000,000 chance peice breaks and some how damages the case by hitting it is not possible, but most likely something external caused the case to crack. most likely the "warranty" from the toyota dealership is an "extended warranty" sold to u in the deal via an aftermarket extended warranty aka breakdown insurance company. most of those policies do not cover damage, corrosion, negligence or racing the vehicle.
