Clutch or Transmission?
I live in ma and it gets cold down here and this is when it started happening. Well for the past couple of weeks when I go on the highway and goto my 4th or 5th gear and i accelerate harder it seems like my clutch is slipping but not fully sure its that. It feels like when I put a load on it it starts to take a couple of seconds to start kickin in. it could also be my transmission?
PLEASE HELP I NEED TO KNOW WHAT THIS IS!!!!
I know evos have some clutch problems; by the way I have about 60xxx miles on my evo 8

Clutch's tend to show there wear in cold conditions. If you are in a higher gear and you roll on the throttle and it feels like it's reving up a bit then kinda floats there until the drivetrain catches up you have a worn clutch. This is the best way I can describe how it feels.

Depends, you may have limited material left on the disc, so it will take a bit longer to get the smell to arise. Manual transmission do not usually hesitate when they have issues, auto transmissions usually slip when they have issues. It is most likely a clutch failing from what you are describing.

That sounds like straight clutch. The clutch is done.
