clicking sound

my evo 9 just started making a clicking sound when it kicks up the idle at first i figured it was the fan because it only happens when the fan comes on, so i held the fan from moving and the sound was still there. its coming somewhere from the tranny side. right now i'm just waiting for my room mate to get home so i can get my tools i was just wondering if anyone knows what could be up before i spend a couple hours diagnosing

try putting your ear behind the valve cover over your injectors... if you have a stethascope its easier to find these pesky problems...

its not the injectors they don't make this kind of noise and it's not the valve train i wish i had a mechanics scope but i cant afford one right now. but i can just use an extension of course it wont work as well but it will give me something. anyways i'll figure it out
