cannot get my clutch out

Having problems getting my engine seperated from my tranny. i went on evomoto followed the instructions by putting a flat head screw driver between the wedge collar and throw out bearing. My buddy pushed the fork towards the driver side and i pryed the opposite way with all my strength and could not get a release. Please do not refer me back to evo moto. If anybody has any tricks they used please let me know. I need to ship my motor/trans out and i need to do this asap. Thanks

Its been a while since I had my tranny out but I believe you dont need to pry just put the flat head screwdriver right behind the wavy spring and turn your screwdriver either way clockwise or counter clockwise at the same time pull the tranny away from motor.

I know you dont want to here this but I thought I would check out the evomoto website and see if their writeup was good. I would have say it is dead on correct, take your time and study the pics they have posted. I think your rushing you must put the screwdriver in the correct spot and just turn in like your were tighting a screw. Placement of the screwdriver is the key...

I did not see where they said you have to twist and then seperate the trans from the motor. I will have to go back n double check

remember to first insert the screwdriver then pull the fork. When you have compressed the wavy looking spring then turn the screwdriver and start pulling the tranny away from the motor. Turning the screwdriver is what pops everything loose. Let me know how it goes...

Like I said your not prying all you have to do is turn the screwdriver like you were turning a screw. One tip might be is to use a large flatheaded screwdriver the larger the head the better....

Even for KevinD who has changed LOTS of Evo clutches, it still took some jiggling/a few minutes to get my X's TO bearing to release.

Next time just unbolt the pressure plate 1 bolt at a time and release the trans that way.

The way i have done it is to have one person go through the access cover on the top of the tranny with a long screwdriver and the other one does the same thing from the bottom. Try that and be patient. Good luck.
