143.3 mph, stock ecu!!!

Well we hit the strip tonight to test out our E85 powered 2005 Evo MR 5sp.

Getting used to the 18.6lb QuarterMaster twin disc and dialing in the launch and tires was tough to do. The track was busy, there were some breakdowns of some other cars and we just did not get enough runs in.

By the end of the night we were unable to get a solid pass in where we hit all the gears, however we were able to muster up a 10.1@141mph missing 4th gear once, and getting it in gear the second attempt.

Dialing in tire pressure took a little bit, sometimes wheel hopping, others bogging down on the launch. Our best MPH on the stock ECU was 143.3mph for the night which amounted to a botched launch and saying "the hell with it, lets see what it will trap".

What we really need is a private track day with some more seat time to get it nailed down but I can easily see 9.8's or so with our mph and current weight.

We figured that we would get booted from our local track for no cage, so at the last minute, we decided to see if we could shed a few lbs. If we were getting kicked out, we figured why not do it big.

We removed the rear sway bay, the passenger seat, rear seat back and lower portion. With 200lbs of driver 3365 appears to be our current weight in street/race trim

Slips will be up shortly.

Here are the details on the car 763whp/595tq STOCK ECU, SpeedDensity, E85 by TTP!

hell i would be happy with high 9s which im sure that thing will hit very soon. Especially with the crappy tracks and unpredictable weather here in NC.

Trapping over 140 on stock ECU is cool, regardless of what the dyno numbers are. I think we are going to see more and more stock ECU cars making big power at the strip in 2010. Kudos.

Not favoring anyones side here on what is right, wrong, correct or incorrect. It doesnt freakin matter! If you had personal goals and met them, then Awesome! If not, then keep plugging away until you do. That way it keeps this hobby of ours fun and not so cluttered with BS from what everyone else says we should or shouldnt do.

It doesnt matter how fast or quick you are. Someone is or will be better than you tomorrow. Enjoy your results.

Congrats!

Whiskey? You kidding me? Here is SC we just pee on it.

Scott, can you give me a few pointers on what you were finding it was best to do in launching with the Tilton? I am an AutoXer, not a drag racer, but I will be taking my car to the dragway soon to see what it will do. Just a few pointers?
