Really wish we had the solid 60' #'s to end the speculation but for us we don't really car as we know they are doing their job just fine
Sorry guys have to let Vince post the boost and 2 step rpm i totally forgot
I should also have these tires on my Ev in the next couple weeks to test them on a higher HP car just for testing sake but my car has other issues right now i'll start another post about that

I ran the Hoosier 225/50R16 on my 2g and was able to cut a best of 1.49 for a 60' I think I could have got down to mid 1.4's consistently on them. Great Tire and still have some sidewall strength to drive on the street. (This is why I didnt run the QTP's)

Hey guys thanks for all the support!! I run a stock ECU tuned by Sean Burgess at Full Function, he has set boost to 29.5psi and the 2-step launch at 6500rpm. Tire pressures on the Hoosier DR's were set at 23psi with plenty of grip for a EVO on a 30R, I can't take all the credit for the car running low 11's on EVO 9 gearing, definately had help from Pat and Steve critiqueing every run and finessing the car to run consistently faster! Ran out of gearing and the valves started floating so more parts are on order!! Pat tell Ernesto to hurry up on this order, please!! Somebodies having a hard time sleeping, dreaming of those 10's don't ya know!!!

Congratulatilons on the multiple personal bests. Call it "Old Schooler' saying the same thing over and over, but there's more to a tire than just cutting a good 60' time. The right tire for any drag car deals with the powerband of the engine (the length of time in the powerband), gearing, reciprocating weight, traction, resistence, build construction (crown, sidewalls, etc). Taking each one of these traits, you can dial your car in as to what it needs.
Tire height of 25.7 increases the mph while leaving the engiine rpm at the same point. (Or, if you want to say it another way, decreases the engine rpm while leaving the MPH the same). Weight is 20lbs. This is obvious, or should be, especially since it's rotating mass. Compound is the Hoosier Slick Compound (very soft) which aids in the traction. The Radial construction lowers the resistence to rolling as the car goes down track. At the same time, tire pressures will typically be set to a higher psi than bias ply slicks. While some tires are taller, some are tackier, some (but not by much) will be lighter, none will surpass these in a 'total package' tire. Thanks for proving once again that the tires do exactly what they've been advertised to do. Drop the ET's and raise the MPH. Nice job.
Added: The above comments arent't to be construed to say that 60' times aren't important, because they most certainly are. It's just that concentrating only on a better 60' COULD lose you time/mph over what it COULD be if you were to get 75% of the best possible 60' time and still gain another equal amount down the track. The net gain could be 150% of what just a GREAT 60' might net.

I'm running JIC Coilovers and springs set to full soft, more of a roadcourse setup really, good intel on tires and that 60' marker as a starting point. All input is welcome!!

Thanks again for the info! Love the videos!
I am not sure how the tires will react with stock struts and lowered springs.
My biggest problem now is that i already have an "injured" gearbox so i dont really know how it could react with the increased traction! Before the season ends i might give it a shot and get the tires.
My car even with the problem gearbox traps 132 no problem on pump. I think that with even a mid 1.6 i could run 10s easily or even better if i can indeed get 1.5 sec 60fts...
It will be a last minute decision i guess!

Krazy Kool, The tires do make a tremendous difference, not only in grip, but also consistency of the 2-step launch. I was all over the place before and could not get a consistent hard launch on my street tires. Goodluck!

Nope no burnout at all.
Just drove around the water box and staged.
I guess we both could probably do a little burnout to clean off the tires some but it really wasn't needed.
Kool thing to see is the diff in the front vs the rears after makeing a few passes on them.
The fronts obviously show signs of slight spinning while the rears hardly looked scuffed......not to mention you can tell how sticky the compound is as it looks and feels like the QTP's after a run..........NICE AND GOOEY
I'll take some pics and post them up
