275/40/17 DOT Drag Tires or Slicks?

Are the 275/40/17 DOT Drag Tires over kill? I'm looking in to a set of drag tires and not sure if I should run a set of 245/45/17 on the factory BBS or go all out and get a set of 17x9 or 9.5 and run the 275/40/17. Anyone running 275's for drag? Or running a set of Hoosier R6 Slick on the factory BBS 245/45/17 or 255/45/17. Currently running stock turbo putting down around 400whp. I will be installing a Red next month. What is my best bet?

Well after doing some research of my own, my best bet is to go with a 245/45/17 on the factory rim.

The BFGs in the same size are supposed to be pretty good for traction. I wonder if this will help with reducing shock loads though.
