2009 IndyHP Street Car Shootout
IndyHP is a local private car forum I am a part of. Very good group of guys with like minded interest but a vast variaity of cars. Last year we had a smaller track rental and it was a blast, this year we decided to rent out a much larger track and setup a bigger event. I would be real cool to see some other evos from around the way show up and race.
What:
A day of quarter-mile drag racing with IndyHP, complete with classes and tough competition. Fun runs will also take place during the entire day for anyone wishing to just get out there and race.
Where:
O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis
When:
Sunday, July 5, 2009 - Tech In at 9:00 AM EDT - Racing starts at 10:00 AM EDT.
Cost:
Pre-register until June 19th: $40.00, Day of event: $60.00, $5.00 for spectators
Who:
Anyone who wants to come out and see what their car can do, for friendly competition, or just to get a personal best time. Everyone is invited and is encouraged to invite their friends. Feel free to post on other forums.
Classes:
To register or find out more about the event please visit:

Drives: my wife nuts and my son to the track.

You guys WOULD have to schedule this while I was in Las Vegas. I'll be there with my wife celebrating 35 years of marriage. I'm hiding the keys to the car, so even Tony can't find them. Man, I wish I was going to be able to go. Sounds like a great time at a great track in a real racing environment.

<< Interested in coming I have nothing planned in July right now.
How strict will tech be? I plan to be deep into the 10's on the new setup and trying for a 9 second pass.

Tech is kind of a iffy topic, they wont really give me a straight answer on that. I know you will get at least two passes even if they are to the book on it. They acted like they would try and cut us some slack but I cannot promise anything. :~

Fair enough. I have my fire jacket and helmet but will not put a cage in the car.

I am hoping for some slack. I will not cage my car either.

I think they will cut a little slack on tech with it being a private event. I also heard there would be tons of naked schoolgirls there so everyone should come just in case I'm right
