Ok guys, I'm starting a new thread (which will be a Sticky after the 1st) to replace the thread from last year. BTW here's a link to the old thread 10 fastest evo's this season (2006)which will be moved from Sticky to somewhere elese.
Last years thread was a big hit as a lot of different drivers/cars were able to make the list as the season went on. I received a lot of great feedback and suggestions. I don't want too many lists- so we're sticking to two lists MPH and ET (just like last year) regardless of some of the new added criteria below:
There will be some new added criteria. This year we're bumping it up to 15 cars instead of the 10 from last year and will include new criteria such as: Engine- Turbo setup, shop affiliation, and an evo generation (8 or 9) category. If you're riunning pump gas or 101, or alky injection or NOS add that in the "Engine/Turbo column.
So this is how the new format will look for each list.
Screen Name - Date - Shop Affiliation - Evo Generation - Engine/Turbo Setup - ET/MPH
The rules are the same this is for the 8 and 9 generation evo's only and only in the USA. I'm also thinking of making it a must for the person on the list to be on the forum. We had a lot of sponsors telling me this year that their customer cars did XX or ran ABC in the 1/4 but as far as I'm concerned they don't need to be on this specific list if they aren't part of the community and can let me know themselved. Anyone agree? Disagree?
* 05/16/2007 - NEW UPDATE/RULE: I'm developing a new rule as I've had a few PM's with the same concern and it's a VERY valid one...
Some of you are giving me times and traps that are rounded or have no tenth or hundredth decimal place. (ex 10.XX or 10.XXX, 123.XX MPH or 123.XXX MPH) It all really depends on the track and what they put on the slip, I know they aren't all the same, but I know there are decimal places lol.
This is a growing concern as right now there are people that have given me- say an 11.2 and they're ranked higher than the guy who ran an 11.23- this isn't right...
So what I plan to do is keep the list as is- knowing that it's going to change A LOT in the next few months, but I also ask all of you who may know your exact ET or MPH to post it or scan your slip- this will help me keep the list accurate. a tenth of a second is big in race land.
Also once we get further down the season I'm thinking of requiring a scanned slip or vid for the top 5- for 100% validity.
* 07/15/2007 - Trophy's: A trophy for each number one spot leader on each list will be sent out at the end of the season/year. I have yet to find the right company, trophy model, or verbiage, but it will all come together and I really can't wait to send them out to the winners.
Everyone stayed tuned for ProccoEvo, i predict it will see 8s this year with his current set up! He already broke a record for the 9sec Evo with a GT40R with NO spray
These are all try statrements... I'd like to see TT part of this thread this year. They were the only one of the big boys that didn't seem to care much last year.
Watch out for Danimal as well. I predict 8's for him.
To bump this thread I'm reserving this post for the second to come forward with a legit time that has a chance of standing tall for a while (11's at least).
