replacement brake pads

it's getting time i change my oem brake pads. i have done the research and it seems like hawk hps are the best bang for the $ (i don't have). i am deciding between the hps (HB453F.585 & HB180F.560) and the performance ceramic pads (HB453Z585 & HB180Z560). any thoughts? pls post asap so i can make decide once and for all.

any thoughts on other pads you think are better in this price range or cheaper (<$200)? pls let us know. thanks in advance!

How about the Ferodo 2500's?

I'm planning on getting these in the next couple of days...been reading good things about them.

thanks for the post. not heard much about ferodo. wish there was a way to compare these products head to head with their specs - coeff. fric, temp range, etc. then it would be easier to select a brand and type within the price you want.

get the ferodo's (ds2500). I hear they are the best in terms of street use. Hit up the vendor "Ravspec"

i'm trying centric posi quiet brake pads.
100 bucks shipped for F+R- don't expect anything above OEM performance

I put the Hawk HPS pads all the way around on my Evo 2 weeks ago. I noticed an immediate increase in brake performance (better feel, shorter stopping distance) and a huge decrease in brake dust. I don't know if anyone else thinks the stock pads throw off a lot of dust, but it used to piss me off. I'm very pleased with what the HPS pads have done for my car, and will stick with them when it's time to swap em out again.

Hi, About brake pads replacement. For the first Brake Pads replacement, is it the front pads, then afterward front and rears?

Thanks, but I wanted to know what to expect on my first brake job. Cars usually wear pads first on the front, then the rears. Can anyone tell if this is the same with the Evo?

I have the Hawk HPS and they are working for me. I have about 330 HP and run a few HDPE's, and they seem to be holding up well. I'm also planning on getting cooling ducts which should help some too.

They only squeal right as I come to a slow stop, but not bad.

I know another guy who ran the HPS with a little more HP (but only a second less time) and they disintegrated.

So I guess it depends on how hard you plan on running them.

I have used the hawks & ferrodos.
The 2500s are with out a doubt the best. They are a bit more expensive but are a better product. They are much more quiet also.

I don't know if you've considered this or not, but I just ordered a set of Endless SS-H specifically design for our Brembo OEM calipers. They should be in mid next week, and believe me, I'll be able to give a good assessment by the following Monday. If you're interested, I'll post up on here a review.

Oh it's not just your opinion, the stock pads throw off more dust than a sand storm!

all input is more than welcome. seems like endless is more pricey and therefore should be higher end. let us know if this logic holds true.
