Best Street-ONLY Brakes?
What's the best brakes you can get, specifically for just the street? I rarely do any autocross or racing.
Specifically:
A) Which pads with stock rotors?
B) Do rotors really help?
C) Do brake lines and brake fluid make a big difference for just the street? If so, which ones?

If you don't autoX or race then the stock ones are just fine....You might want to do drilled or slotted rotors

A. Hawk HPS is my personal favorite. You will get a little squeak but nothing too bad.
B. Yes, I really like a good slotted rotor. I highly recommend Centric HP rotors. I have customers that are still running the I install back in 2004.
C. Brake lines make a HUGE difference. Stock lines can and do tear/leak and a good set of SS lines will provide for consistent pedal pressure and piece of mind. On the street I would recommend ATE Super Blue. It's inexpensive and does real well even in a good auto cross situation. On a road course though it will boil.
Hope this helps you out a little. Let me know if i can answer any other questions.

haha, the S2000 antenna's reception is just as good as the stock one.
Any other suggestions? I was thinking about the WORKS package:

Get the performance friction Z rated from AMS...a much better pad than the HPS IMO and no noise. Don't get drilled rotors as they crack, all you really need are maybe two-piece stock sized replacement blanks. On a street car you really won't see the advantages that slotted/drilled rotors provide and the only thing they will help with is destroying your pads. Run SS lines and some fluid. ATE is good, Motul is better

i dunno... ever since i got my WORKS P2 flash and a turbo-back exhaust, it gets up in the high MPH pretty fast. Some crazy woman cut in front of me going really slow. I hit the brakes and it was a little close... I sorta fish-tailed too, but I guess that's typical if you hit the brakes too quick and too hard.

Pads make the biggest difference for street driving and Carbotech has one of THE BEST reputations in brake pads. But... they're not cheap.

They have a wide range of compounds to suite your driving style.

Don't forget a good set of tires also help with braking. The best brake setup in the world won't do much if you have crappy tires.
