EVO VIII SM4-Based PnP & Ion Sense Knock Detection?
I'm looking to upgrade to Autronic engine management. Has Autronic released their SM4-based PnP for the EVO VIII yet? Does it include Ion Sense knock detection? Thanks.

the evo9 PnP based on the SM4 will come first (still in design stages)... and later followed by a SM4 EVO 8 board (hopefully)...
currently, you can purchase factory ecu female connectors and SM4 and make a patch harness... if you would like more information on this, please let me know.

I was the one who led young Skywalker astray...
Here's the thread where I heard about ion-sense, and it refers to the SM5, not the SM4. Shoulda looked it up before I mentioned it.

Spend the time putting a sensible tune into it and you dont need to worry about knock. If you are concerned you can fit a stand alone knock detector.
It has other great protection modes such as limp home mode if coolant temps get too high, over boost cut, adjustable soft and hard rev limits. Can plug in your lappie with the sofware and monitor all the live data, log data whilst driving for diagnosis, load new maps on the fly for race fuel or different fuels or low/high boost maps. Very versatile unit.
Ran the PnP board in my last STI and it was amazing. Now just waiting on the PnP board for the EVO 9 to come out.
