I think road tuning would be better anyway...

The EGT gauge should be before the turbo, in the manifold. The gasses will cool a lot after going through the turbine.

Agreed with you on where the best place to take a reading is, but with the anti-lag blowing up in the manifold, it'll make it more likely to break/melt the EGT probe and send parts of it down to the turbo. Not a good thing on such a rare turbo.

We've got a bung on the manifold pre-turbo, so I may try it there to get some baseline readings, then move it to the downpipe to figure out what the temperature differential is.

Best picture would be Dave with that big smile on his face. I would be smiling so hard, I'm sure I would strain a muscle.

Awesome news guys, thanks for the heads up! Should be just in time for the car getting the engine broken in.

Not sure if there were many pics taken today, but the guys took a look at my exhaust and worked some magic to tuck it further into the transmission tunnel. This should help protect it from rocks and put a bit more breathing room between the downpipe and the skid plate. The attention to the small details is what sets apart good shops from great shops.

Not if it's the new production TR30r unit that they were talking about at PRI. There are essentially two TR30r series now, consumer and professional. The consumer model has a thicker turbine housing casting among other material cost reductions (I think) that bring the price down.

The expensive version is not sold to non professional teams because the turbine housing is not thick enough to stop the turbine from centrifuging and blasting out of the housing. (in the name of lightweight)

Either way that turbo is badass and the whole car is badass. I wish I had one of those under my hood.

Good luck with the project Dave! It was nice meeting you and seeing your car up close. I can't tell you how jealous I am, I think Rally is the ultimate motorsport. Have some fun with all the new parts!
