I'm curious about the flutter issue as well. Every aftermarket BOV that I've driven/seen/heard tends to flutter at part throttle conditions and release in a jerky sudden way, which is really detrimental to keeping your car on the edge of traction when you are in the middle of a sweeper on a track or autocross course. The OEM valves don't do this, but then they don't hold high boost as well either. For now, I'm using a DSM 1G valve with a Dejon leak-stop kit. If I could find something simpler and more elegant that had the same smoothness and more holding power I'd switch.

The "flutter" is actually compressor surge which is caused by the CBV not opening fast enough under low boost.
I'm sure because of the size of this thing, it won't have to open much to relieve the pressure in the IC piping.
I also think that the size and amount of air that can flow through this thing is why it's silent. Blow through a straw, you hear a loud hiss. Blow the same volume of air through a paper towel tube, you'll have MUCH less resistance and hear virtually nothing.

I'm not sure it's a matter of valves not opening fast enough, as much as it is that they don't open at all until there is a significant drop in manifold pressure, which makes it difficult to modulate the throttle smoothly and drive at a constant, say, 50% boost level, without either the feeling of the valve opening and closing rapidly, giving a herky jerky feeling to the car, or the feeling that boost is continuing to build until you lift off enough to open the valve at which time you lose almost all boost.

(How's that for a run-on sentence!)

I'd love to hear Tial's view about all of this.

x10000000001

I am eager to see how it installs in an Evo 8 and how it fairs with the part-throttle-modulation-huck-a-buck (yes, that is a technical term!)
