AMS Standing Mile / Bonneville car project

One of our close friends and customers Tommy P has decided to build a REALLY cool car for a unique form of racing. Tommy is no newbie to motorsports either. You might remember his red evo from a past sport compact car ultimate street car challenge. His car dominated just about every event until he had an oil pump failure on the last leg costing him the event.

Hes not one to be defeated though as he now brings his pride and joy to AMS to help team up with us on building a MPH monster! The car just showed up today but you can already see its got some nice work done to it. I will keep you all updated in this thread as we modify this EVO for some standing mile competition and to even compete on the Bonneville salt flats!

Eric

I remember that EVO like Eric pointed out from the UTSCC of 2005 if I remember correctly. He had everyone beat until the failure. What an awesome machine that will turn out to be be!!!

Great work guys, truly clean!!!

Sick, I've never seen a car like the Evo in a standing mile competition, usually only high horsepower supercars.

Guys, check out www.garyjavo.com if you wanna see some crazy standing mile vids.

With obscene amounts of horsepower I would guess.

There was one that did one of the open road challenges last year.. hit somewhere around 215mph iirc.

I heard the car is slow and the owner is a toolbag

j/k

good luck guys.....there is ALOT of blood sweat and tears in that car!

Hands down the record holding car for most setups in the fewest amount of miles. Anyone care to guess how many miles that car has? 2003, original owner....I'm going to say under 5k total on the chassis. Tommy is an absolute, died in the wool NUT!
