Interested in an Aus run Evo forum?
Hey ya guys,
I was wondering if you are at all interested in using an Evo forum run from here in Australia?
I started the Perth-wrx.com forum a coupla years back, and was wondering if you are all happy with this one? Or would it be worth starting a new one up aimed at Australian Evo ownersaround australia?
Perth-wrx forum can be found here:
www.forum.perth-wrx.com
It'd be a similar format.
Domain suggestions: www.evoaus.com
Also I would design up a website to go with of course
Any feedback would be appreiciated.

theres already http://www.ozmitsubishi.com and a few others. adding more forums is silly, just makes us all grow further apart. less forums = more content on the existing ones so you dont have to search 50 forums to find what you want.

Cool. Is this forum focussed on Evos or a general Mistu group?
From my experience in subarus the Evo and STI/WRX owners have very different needs and questions. I had been asked by a few people over east if there was a forum purely for Evos, and I couldn't find one, that is why I make these enquiries.
But otherwise yes there are quite a few Lancer and Mistu groups and clubs around like MOGWA and the such.
Cheers

Had a look at ozmitsubishi, try to focus on Evos and australia but the members are mainly Lancer VRX and the such and seems that heaps of members are from the USA.
I don't want to sound like a snob, but an exclusive type forum may be benificial for us Evo owners in Aus to help each other out without contaniments - and trust me as an admin and mod of a forum there can be heaps of those.
Still, keep the suggestions and thoughts flowing. The last thing I want is to create group where no one visits and contributes.

Good idea THX1138
Having an Ozzie own forum I believe would be great. I know rex's and skylines inside and out but have no idea about what these evo pocket rockets are really capable of. Any local forum that can help me out would be great. It also lets me get to know other road warriors in the land of Oz(Its hard living in the bush when your not into V8 Utes!!)

I'd support an Aust Evo forum for sure. There aren't many of us, but there seems to be a bit of a gap with the other sites.
This forum is clearly US centric, MOGWA and ozmitsubishi are often too general (you have to filter through it to find what is relevant), and there's a Yahoo GSR/EVO group which is great, but.. it's clunky to use being a Yahoo thing.
Something along the lines of the UK's www.lancerregister.com would be great. General/Technical/Events/For Sale etc.

As i said - spreading the info really doesnt help anyone. alot of the issues the evo owners on this forum face will be the same as ones you'll come across.
the idea if to get as many people as possible in the one spot, not break up into lots of seperate sites.
I'd suggest asking KK to setup an Australian Evo forum on this server if you really feel you need your own 'space'. atleast then a search on this site will bring up your info and the US guys which benefits everyone.

I'd like something just for Evo owners and Evo enthusiasts that aspire to owning an Evo. Sorry, but i'd like to weed out those that can't or don't contribute.
If that makes me a forum snob, so be it.

EvosAustralia.com evoaus, evonet, evoclub.com.au, something like that - they'd all be okay - just as long as the name wasn't confusingly similar with another evo site.
