Before everyone starts chiming in.....dont just give me \"Buy the (Insert brand here) kit!\" or \"Buy (insert brand here) that kit!\" with no information. Tell me what made you actually buy the kit....if your happy with it.....what kind of power you made...etc....etc...etc
I have been doing alot of research on this lately. Alky seems like my next logical choice in upgrades (check my sig) Especially after talking with Warrtalon on our DC Evo Club website.
My main thing is....im definitely scared to use it. I know that they are coming out with more and more safeguards but none are really foolproof. The Exede seems to have a great safeguard approach but I dont really wanna go that route right now.
Im leaning towards the SMC right now just because of how long they have been doing Grand Nationals and because the 3.0 looks promising. does anyone have alot of experience with the 3.0?
Ultimate CC seems to have great results with the Snow Performance kit and thats defitely another one I have been seriously looking at.
Thanks for everyones input and help in advance.

I got SMC 2.0 kit. Love it. Made 100 ft.lb of TQ over the normal 93 octane boost level. Waiting for v3.0.

yeah I don't think v3 is out yet. I just installed mine and had AMS tune it last week. Picked up only about 30hp but who cares, my tq jumped from 295 to 383!! That's huge...oh yeah I'm using the SMC

where did you get your tune done at? Does anyone have a release date on 3.0? What are going to be the new features of 3.0 as apposed to the 2.0? Digital instead of the dial control? Do you have yours set to start spraying at 18lbs? Are you boosting to like 26 or 28lbs? Sorry for all the questions I just want to be sure of my next investment.....and I want to be as safe as possible.

I have no clue about v3.0. Sorry.
I was first custom tuned by Dynoflash over a year ago. Then about 4 months ago I tuned the car myself with ECU+(with a different ECU but I "copied" the timing curve from the flash:}).
I set the spray at ~16PSI and max at 23-24PSI. Boost spikes to ~30 PSI and fall to wherever. 10# nozzle. 100% Methanol and 93 octane. AFR @ 11.4-11.5 to one. Timing @ about 21-22 deg at 7K.

Nice...are you local to the NOVA area?? I know Mach V is a big ECU+ seller. Did you dyno tune it or road tune it with a wideband?

I just got the SMC kit installed and tuned. Works like a charm.
Spray starts at 10psi with full spray by 20psi. Max boost is about 26psi, but I am still running a high flow cat.
I gained about 30whp/tq....could have gotten more boost and power if not for the HFC.
Awesome kit though, and great support and service from SMC!!!

I think I am probably one of the few that is running a "devilsown" alcohol injection kit. The main reasons that I bought it were because I have a few friends with SRT-4's that use it, and it is quite a bit cheaper than any other kit. I initially put down 340 HP/340TQ and this kit jumped me up to 367HP/393TQ. I start apraying arond 10 PSI and I'm at MAX around 23PSI. I hit full boost at 27PSI. At the time I was having a few boost issues, so I need to get back to a dyno and see how much I'm putting down, now that I have everything fixed.

Oh...NOVA is short for Northern Virginia. I know alot of guys around here use ECU+. I personally am not a tech head...more a wrench monkey so I am not money enough to tune my own ECU.

Yeah those are good numbers and you are close to me as well since I have seen you on DCEVO before and I am in Waldorf. What kind of failsafes does that kit have? I might want to take a look at it one time.

It has a light that goes on when the pump starts, and it also and another light that will start flashing if there is a problem with the pump. As long as you put the controller within view, you can monitor it pretty well.

testudo> we are in the same boat, as i'm looking at Alky as my next purchase too (along w/ cams) and have been researching the hell out of this!
check out the aquamist system as well. www.aquamist.co.uk
they have been around in motorsports (long history in H2O injection in WRC cars). plus Al mentioned a while back that he was impressed with the set up!
for me i'm chosing between aquamist, SMC or the Snow.

I had Turbo Trix in NJ tune install and tune my kit with 100% Meth.
I was down to choosing between SMC and Snow Perf. I had no doubt each would work well. The main deciding factor for me was support if anything went wrong. SMC has been around for a while and has great customer support! Just check out this forum.
SMC kit has an in-car controller which displays that the system is on and ready, when it is spraying, and when the tank is low (1/3 level).
I must say my setup is nice.
Utec with 2 maps - one for pump/alky, and one for just pump
Greddy Profec II EBC - with two boost settings - again alky vs pump

i just made my purchase today and i went with the Buschur SMC kit...my deciding factor was quality of course which ive read taht SMC and Buschur are great vendors, ease of installation was a major part, and supposedly Buschur SMC kit is one of the easiest to install since it pretty much just all comes pre assembled, plus the many other great things people have already said about this kit!

I am in the same boat as the guy that started the thread, and do not want to make the wrong choice. I have seen many people with many different kits and most seem to be happy with each one. It would be my assumption that most are created equal as long as the pump is a good one. I am looking for an alky kit and will be buying in the next 3-4 months. I would really like a good failsafe. I have read most all of the threads about the failsafe and I know there really isn't one that is true to the definition of the word, but saftey is my biggest concern. I want a good kit, but if I had to sacrifice say 20ft lbs tq for a better margin of safety I would. The price really isn't that important to me. I just do not want to have to send the damn car to ams or buschur to be rebuilt when the kit screws up. So from a safety stand point, what would be the best kit that is available, and since I am so safety concious would I be better off just not getting any of the kits? thanks ahead of time

It all boils down to one's preference of installation ease, reliability, solvent of chice, standard of quality, and degree of safety. There is a good variety out there - just read up.
I know which one is best - for me at least.
