Is the MINI Cooper S a chick car?
Ok heres the deal, i drive a MINI Cooper S, and there has been recent discussion on MINI forums about whether some people think it is a chick car or not. I want to know what non-MINI owners/enthusiasts think.

No its not but its very metrosexual. So its a guys car just a different kinda guy 
. Nothing wrong with that I like driving them and they really are good cars but they dont do quite enough to justify the oddity.

I don't think so. The Mini Cooper S is a pretty damn competent car. I've run against them on the race track and was impressed.
Sure, there are girls that drive the Mini Cooper (not so much the "S"), but that doesn't dilute the car any.

It is most certainly not a chick car.. especially not the S, many of the girls that think they're "cute" and own one, generally own a regular Cooper and a few own the S just so they can turn out of their neighborhood faster (or race it, i'm not saying women don't race, i'm just saying of all the owners I know, and I know a lot)
However, I also know many men who race it, and run super track times (especially for the car, which isn't a bad car, but it just isn't a sports car and it keeps up and beats a lot of sports cars) and because they drive the Mini, their wives come race it too but would not race anything but (these are two different guys by the way).
I drove a German imported Mini (same thing as here, about 5-10 more hp, less weight, and no top speed limiter) one day and I have to say that it is a pretty nice car... My only complaint is my complaint about A LOT of cars: bang for the buck, for 24-26k I would rather have a WRX.

My wife has a yellow base Cooper and that thing is fun to drive! I wouldn't mind trying out an S someday but probably wouldn't buy one. Anyway nice car dude

I think the only REAL chick cars are VW Cabriolet, the old Mercury Capri convertible, and the VW Bug. Other than that, I think you're safe. Especially with the "S".
