Anybody up for something like this? It's something I'm looking to offer as a service on any car with a AEM EMS installed. All install and tuning would be done at Torquefreaks in Portland, Oregon. I could possibly direct a build up remotely, you should contact me for details on that.

Basically it goes like this. You got two fuel systems, each with it's own rail, injectors, regulator, tank, and pump. One gas, one methanol. You run on gasoline all the time, except when you hit boost. At that point, the gasoline shuts off, and methanol takes over.

The gains would be ~10% at the same boost level, depending on ambient temperature (the hotter it is outside, the more you gain). This is in addition to whatever gain going to 30psi on your turbo (if the turbo is able) would net you. This is for a unopened engine. You could also switch to the regular unleaded instead of premium. You wouldn't need to upgrade your stock fuel injectors, keep em.

Now, if you plan ahead, you can make considerably more. I'm talking compression. If you are doing a motor build up, you would use 11:1 pistons. This would boost the power gain to more like 20-30% at the same boost level, more of course for higher boost. You could also ditch the intercooler completely, and route the turbo outlet directly into the intake manifold, as the methanol has the ability to absorb all that heat and then some.

it would be very expensive. the amount of injector to make some real power with meth would require like 8 1600's and a expensive azz pump(weldon 2035+). a good friend of mine making 800+whp with a honda b18c required this much meth and i believe his injectors were close to maxxed out. good idea, just expensive.

Many high end cars, such as Shepards, run on straight methanol. Yes, it is a fuel

Whatever you would need for gasoline, multiply it by about 227% for methanol. A set of four 1600cc's would be enough for most Evos.

You would save by not having to replace the stock injectors, so it's only the difference between four 500-700cc injectors and four 1600cc injectors, plus the pump. But take out having to get a intercooler, and it's the same or cheaper.

i was talking about making big power. 400-500awhp should be doable on 1600cc's. you still need good fuel lines, regulator, pump, injectors, fuel rail, etc. too expensive, not to mention what it does to your oil.
