I have been hunting around for a while, and decided today to put together a simple on/off non progressive DIY meth kit for my evo8 to play with.

Im hunting ebay and other internet sites for shurflo pumps. There seem to be many different models that all look the same, all have viton valves, same 3/8" FPT in/outlets, and about the same $55-$65 price.

Im finding:

MODEL 8050-204-033 1.6GPM @ 30PSI

Model: 2088-343-135 3.0GPM @ 45psi

Model 8000-543-250 1.8GPM @ 60psi

Model 8000-543-238 1.8GPM @ 100ps

Model 2088-422-144 2.8GPM @ 45psi

Model 2088-422-444 2.8GPM @ 45psi

Those are just the first of about 60 on ebay right now.

Can someone shed some light on the differances here, and which ones have been used on meth kits?

I believe most WI makers uses the 100psi pump.

Will you be joining the WI makers list soon? the more the merrier. {thumbup}

eh, I doubt Im going to start selling kits. I want to experiment runing meth to the fuel side of nitrous kits for drag use. That would be the most likely kit Id sell. for now, this is just experimentation.

Go with a higher psi one.....100...150, you'll get a better atomization and preferbly one with a epdm valves.

Regarding mist size, Hago has the data published on:

This company has really good price for their pumps

I got my 100psi shurflo for $85 (sitting around collecting dust), enginerunup has it for $70.

I just ordered the #2687 shurflo pump 1.8gpm 60psi pump from northern Tool $69.

looks like these are all the same DC motor with a different demand switch and possibly different pump head parts/seals. I start out with the 60psi model, as the atomization is't really an issue. The meth gets combined with nitrous before it leaves the jet. Nitrous at 1000psi should scatter the meth pretty well. Atleast we have no troubles with atomization with gasoline only delivered at 40psi in the same fogger nozzles.
