Will my Safc mess up my flash?
I just got a SAFCII to install in my car so that I can be able to swap between my flash map and a high octane map. I am wondering when I put my SAFC in will that change the tune on my car because it is not set on the SAFC.

It will not change the tune on your car if you leave all the RPM settings (hi and low) at 0%. At 0% it's making no changes to the airflow signal so it's like the AFC is not even there.

Why waste the money on the S-AFC, when you could just spend 85 dollars on a tactrix cable and use Ecuflash?

sure you could do that and flash your car everytime you feel like running race gas. then flash it back when you are done, or you could buy an afc and just lean out the tune a little.

Yea but it is much quicker to just change your map on the SAFC. Also it would be cheaper to get an $85 plug but you forgot to add on the price of a laptop.

well the thing about that is how you tune your car. If you have and afc its better off to keep it unless you need the money. When the weather changes its a pain to retune nothing big just a pain. So you have two different files that you use. I have heard of it being a problem at high rpm with your timing but im not sure on that.

From what I have heard, it well help if anything because you can fine tune the flash and put in race gas and lean the car out to the desired afr and gain more power. I always suggest to people that have one to also do the other...If I wasn't going with an AEM thats what I would do.

Doesn't the Ecu recognize high octane and low octane fuels? If so why would you need an S-AFC?

I don't think so. Also I have been tuned by TTP and I am going back to get another flash for 110 octane and about 26-28 lbs of boost. I am using the safc for its ability to swap between multiple maps.

Is there any difference between the VIIIs and the IXs when it comes to SAFC tuning?

Instead of a flash? I would rather spend the money on the flash since they get to mess with the mivec.
