Evo 8 (stock) worth an SAFC-II?
I know this has been done before...Does anyone recommend that I put this SAFC-II into the 05' Evo. Does it really do much for a stock motor?Or should I wait until I get an intake and exhaust before this mod? Which would be better when to put an SAFC-II in?

check out ecuflash in the Evo Engine Management / Tuning Forums
you can now flash your ecu with a $95 cable and free flashing software.

Is that pretty much the same thing then for that SAFC-II... so I should prolly just sell the SAFC-II then? $95 sounds like a good deal...and that ECU flash should prolly add 30whp or so..

no, you will need a laptop to make the changes. safc fools the ecu signal. with the cable and laptop, you are changing the actual settings of the ecu.
plus you can pay dynoflash $50, and he can email you the tune specific to your mods.
please search a bit in that forum.

It doesn't matter what mods you have, you don't want to use the SAFC. Sell it and get a flash, whether you use EcuFlash or just get a regular flash done directly to your ECU.
To actually answer your question, though, I went 13.1@103.9 in my stock 05, and then I installed my leftover SAFC I from my old DSMs, and then I went 12.8@106.3, so yeah, it will make more power just like any tune, whether you have mods or not, but it won't be nearly as good as a flash and won't provide any features whatsoever like launch control, raised rev limiter, and removal of fuel cut all of which come with a flash.
