There aren't any E85 pumps between LI and Manhattan, it's just the ones in LI that I'm aware of. You would have to calculate your drives and fill ups since you won't have many places to get E85.

I'm in NYC as well and recently have been seeing a lot of the TLC drivers in Yukon's with Flex Fuel logo's on the back. Next time I see one I'm going to ask where they have been filling up because those guys drive like 20k miles a year they must know some places that I don't. As soon as E85 becomes a bit more common in NYC I am definitely switching over.

If swapping maps is possible to run both E85 and 93 that would definitely make it easier, but I still think I will wait until more stations start carrying it.

Yes, thats the advantage of the AP, a quick < minute flash and you are on your way. But Cobb does not have OTS maps for E85, so you will have to either create your own or get one made at a tuner. I'm near the Cobb shop in Plano and they have given me a quote for tuned 93 and E85 maps.

What are the chances of Bushur coming out with a switch for the maps, like they did for the 9?

They were reasonable and would be a great solution. What about the final drive gear from Bushur, what happened to that?

Thanks for all the great posts.

I know of the one E85 station near me its like 10 miles away (I think its a BP not sure)

But there is also a station around the corner form me that sells 100 oct race gas. But he only does fill ups with that pump and its about 850 a gallon

I think I would consider it more when they come with a map swap device because I always have my laptop on me

I want to switch to E85 but the only station is on my way to work. I think i'm going to wait till i have done mods to the car and more stations are available.

I would never map switch between the two. Even some gas left over in tank can really screw your afr's. So your more aggressive map could be fubar when running with part 93 and part E-85. No thanks, it's not really a quick switch scenario. I'd go meth if you want switchable power.

The key is to leave the E85 map on for 5-10 minutes after refueling with gasoline, then switching.

How many people are actually running e85 and are switching maps periodically? Has anyone run into any problems?

Plus if I remember it correctly, it takes about two full tanks to convert fully back so it's no use to switch back and forth. It's not good for the long haul.

Another question: does e85 kill the life of motor oil? My friend uses e85 and says the oil gets less viscose compared to 93.

Is this true?

This might seem like a dumb question...

Do the shops that tune for e85 have drums filled with the fuel on location? What's the process of making the actual switch over?
