248.3 Miles to one tank of E-85

Once again I have to say that Tobz is the Man! With FIC 1350's and the FP Red, I am getting better mileage then I was with the stock turbo and PTE 880's!!!

Really? I get 195 miles to the tank on 93. I am not tuned but have mods. My afr gets down to 9.6.

Define a tank of gas?

Example: Usually the light comes on close to 12 gallons of gas being filled. So in this case if you travelled 248.3 miles and filled exactly 12 gallons then you got 20.69 mpg. Other people might be filling up a little earlier maybe they have 10 gallons to fill to full and some might be going for record breaking fumes left etc...

So when you say a tank, how many gallons are you filling up with that reaches full tank?

I am currently getting 19-21 mpg depending on city or highway mixtures. I calculate miles driven / gallons filled to full. I dont necessarily go down to empty and you dont have to either. As long as you are consisten in filling up to full each time so you start close to same amount of gas each to calculate from where you left off.

But if your only filling 10 gallons then your getting 24 mpg on E85 and thats very impressive. But if its 20 mpg thats very good as well for e85.

The light was on for about 10 miles, I put in 13.157 Gallons of E-85 when I filled up. That means, I averaged 18.872 MPG!!! Not to bad if you ask me!

Maybe you should get tuned?

Anyway, I've averaged 21-23 mpg on the highway on E85 travelling on multiple occasions. This is driving an average of 70mph +/- and getting into boost 1-3 times. Gotta love it! Only a $1.75 a gallon here and it's been that price for over a month now.

18.8 is pretty good. So far my best on my personal Evo that runs E85 24/7 is 20.5 mpg with mixed hwy/street. I still haven't done 100% hwy with E85.

I got 282 miles on one tank, all highway and factory closed loop with scaling that was half decent on 880's.. I just switched back to gasoline and went 358 miles with scaling that leaves a bit to be desired.. Driving smart does wonders for mileage...

Got 21mpg around town on one tank of e85. Im on 1450cc Bluemaxs with stock turbo too. But that from being kind of easy on the throttle. Who wants to be easy on the throttle with e85 though! Not me.

Understandably. Who wants to cruise around in vacuum when all that boost is available. I avoid highways as much as possible just so I have excuses to accelerate quickly.

On topic: I am seeing a more common 15-16mpg on E-85. Of course, a lot of that has been with lots of datalog runs as I try things out and see what kind of changes occur.

I can drive my Insight (2000 Manual) to 65mpg in city for over 600 miles on a tank yet I can't for the life of me get over about 260-270 for 93 Octane on all highway miles or much much worse for E85... Wonder if the car makes a difference?

I wish they had a pump nearby too. I would think that if you ran a car the same way back to back from E-85 and gas the gas would give you better gas mileage based off this excerpt:

358 miles on a tank? must be hypermileing it or something. i rarely get on it, with the slow spooling 35r, running in closed loop nearly all the time, mix highway/city and get 280 tops (typically 250-270). 330 on one tank was my best. coming out of the mountains in colorado, with the wind behind me, all highway.

E85 if you are driving the same distance/driving style, and don't change the closed loop target you WILL use 20-30% more fuel. 18 for e85 is on par with 24mpg on 93.
