E85 Fuel Filter

For the guys running E85, are you running anything special for a fuel filter? I know they make some nice filters like the Aeromotive filter but its like $100.

Right now I'm using the filter that came with the Bushur Double Pumper setup and added a Purolator fuel filter to the 2nd line but wasn't sure if that filter is okay to use with E85.

You can buy one from Buschur (I think they are $30)

I like it since you can open it up clean and reuse.

The buschur filter is not and has never been rated for E85 use (as stated by the supplier Kinsler Fuel Injection). It has however been used long enough to be determined to be "E85 safe". But to be honest, every filter I've used on E85 has tested out to be "E85 safe". That includes stock DSM fuel filters, stock evo filters, Summit fuel filters, cellulose filters, and the Kinsler filter.

Since water seems to be a big deal I researched possibly putting a water separator filter in line before the injectors as water has been known to seize them. ever did it though. Here is a link to some to give you an idea of what I'm talking about. Obviously the right filter would be one designed to handle Evo fuel system pressure and whatever fuel flow one might be running. I believe they make them for a reason but it seems diesel and marine (for obvious reasons) applications is what is being advertised.

PS the ones with the clear sight glass are cool in the sense you could see water but the plastic material they are made of is more prone to heat stress and the ability to withstand chemicals or specifically Alcohol/e85 is an unknown.
