E85 Blender Pumps

I just found out there are some pumps in the midwest where you can pick what ethanol content you want and it mixes it on the fly. Good thing about this, during the winter months when most normal pumps only have E70-E75, if you get it from a blender pump it will be true E85 if you pick that option. . .

Good for those of us who are tuned on E85 and don't want to change maps or blend the low-grade up to 85%. . .

Ha! I wonder how long it'll take for that technology to get here? Most of the E85 pumps around here don't even have credit card swipes....

The whole reason I found this is because I went to order my yearly supply of VP Racing Ethanol today (to mix up the "winter blend" to 85%) and was informed by my regional VP rep that they have stopped producing and selling Ethanol.

They didn't have enough call for it. They will only barrel it if I order 500 gallons or more!

Sweet, i am going to tune on it very soon so it will be nice to know what i'm getting, there is a station 45 miles from me. Has any one tested the mixture they got from these pumps? I wonder if you can trust them.

I would call and talk with the manager of the station to be sure. I've heard reports that even some of these pumps are down-mixing to E70 or E75 in the winter even if you press the E85 button. . . one place said it was due to EPA regulations. . .

Don't know what the Environmental Protection Agengy has to do with deciding what grade of gas we use
