Bruzewski’s Modified Street Car Shootout Build!
I can finally tell everyone that Modified Magazine asked me to compete at their Street Car Shootout!! Every year they ask 10 of the top street cars to compete in Phoenix. It consists of a dyno competition, 1/4 mile, auto cross, and a time attack. My friends and I have always talked about what was needed to win one and how well one of our cars would do in this race and it’s become a reality!
Over the years I have been asked a time and time again why I don’t switch to smaller breaks, drag coilovers (I run super stiff Ohins), take out the stereo, etc… Well it’s because I’ve always envisioned building the ultimate street car.
Here is a breakdown of the parts:

Wheels/Tires
Volk TE37 18 x 9.5
Dunlop direzza star spec 275 Tires

AMS C/F Roof
Ralliart C/F Hood
Here’s how the car looked last year.
Ok now on to the changes:
First off I’m lucky enough to be good friends with EVOlutionary (national champion road racer), so we swapped his Ohins on my car. We run almost the same specs but he has updated his over the years and runs a higher spring rate then I do. We also took his Giro disks and pads off his car.
His are on the left mine are on the right
For the road course and auto-x I need more aero. Lucky for me I had just purchased a Voltex wing for a new project car I’m building. I didn’t want to drill holes in my nice carbon trunk so I put the stock trunk back on. We might try and fit EVOlutionary’s splitter later this week.
One big change is the car has to run a catalytic converter. That means getting the car retuned. I called up AMS and they said bring the car down we’ll work it out. So the day I was headed to AMS I finally got my injectors back from being cleaned. I popped them in and headed to Chicago.
The last time the car was at AMS 3 years ago the car made 768 hp with a resonator on the car; no other changes other then the custom AMS cat they made for me while I was there. We had no idea what the car would make with such a power robbing exhaust system. Some how the car made more power then ever before with a cat, I'm going to blame the cold.. The car came in right at 785!
More updates to come as we get closer the race! I only have 2 weeks to go...
