AEM EMS 1313. how to setup timing and TPS?

Hello

I will mount an AEM on a Evo VII 1313 and I need to know how to do the timming setup and TPS, as is done?

I need to know also, that use of the base map that brings the CD, brings more to the 1313 but not which one to use.

Greetings and thanks

Got news for you, the base map isnt really even close to run an Evo safely stock let alone if you are modified. I highly suggest you find an experienced tuner to help you out with a base map to get to a tuning location... My car stock wouldnt run at all but a quick sputter.

The base maps however are labeled as MAF (non speed density using the factory MAF sensor), MAP (using a 3.5 bar MAP sensor for speed density) and 4Coils variants which would be sequential ignition.

As far as timing, Evo's are setup wasted spark and I've never seen (nor been recommended) a need to actually sync the timing on an Evo as long as everything is zeroed out (think cam gears etc)/somewhat factory. If you have some slick setup or still wish to check anyway, make sure your timing light will work properly with wasted spark. Without looking at AEM directly (I am at work) I believes its under the "Options" pulldown or the pulldown directly to the right... Its under the ECU Setup as a wizard to set throttle position and dialog box for timing.

I just this this a few days ago for a sequential ignition system on my car...

Good luck!

How is this done?

-----------------------------------------------

I have 3.5 bar map sensor, wideband aem and ait sensor aem.

The specifications are

Engine Stock
EVO 9 turbo Series 80
kelford cams 264
exausth sistem Mongoose 3 "
iridium spark plugs 1 degree colder
admission with aluminum pipe HKS mushroom
intercooler pipes
big intercooler

So it is not necessary to make the setup of timing in evo, but if the tps?

greetings and thanks

setting the tps is easy.....have your laptop open, on with aem pro opened & connected.

go to configure, ecu set-up, throttle range.....just follow the directions.....

as far as the timing goes....thats a toughy....it's straight forward, but just follow the directions within their 250+ page .pdf

at the end of the day, my timing wasnt very far off, maybe 0.7 of a degree! maybe my set-up was close.....but at the end of the day, it's going to be close & if there is a slight offset, your going to be tuning to your knock sensor anyway.....if you car is off by 20deg, then you see something strange, "hey, im running pump gas on high boost & I can run 30* with no knock" or the complete opposite!!

so far, i havent experienced that in the cars i have tuned....they've been all fairly close.
