Knock??

So I had my car tuned by a friend today after we installed the boost controller and we were picking up knock. It was always a max of 4 volts which is a lot but its not actually knocking we dont think. no signs of detonation nothing.. the car runs like a champ.. amazingly actually. i forget what he said but we did it with something turned off and something turned on that had to do with the knock sensor, anyways it would reach a max of 4 both times. any ideas of what could be going on??

noise from something else.. maybe a grounding problem.. bad sensor??? im lost

thanks

I have heard that if your downpipe rattles your transfer case the knock sensor could pick it up thinking its knock.

If you do not calibrate the knock sensor and you tune without it things will be fine. Problem will be when you reactivate it and the sensor sees false knock (normal engine noise) and starts adding fuel and taking timing out.
