External switch for internal logging

I searched for hours last night and couldnt find what I needed.

From what I understand in the EMS software, I must configure on output (such as switch 7) to activate the log feature and to assign it all the params.

My question is,

How do I physically wire it into the ecu? What pin/input is switch 7. I have a copy of the ecu pin layout. Just not which one needs to be tapped.

I want to log on demand and not use the set params in the internal log for activation.

Thanks for any help.

That is true.

Only input I have used is the clutch switch input and for that I used Switch #4.
But in theory using switch #5 should be just the same and then configure it under logging setup.

I would think that you should chech "log switch2

I don't have the software in front of me, but you would typically pick an available switch, wire it to the switch and then ground as you said, and then set the switch parameter to "Switch [insert number you wired to] Ground = on" or whatever suits your implementation.

You can use any pin as long as it's on of the switches but to activate it you will need a gnd to trigger it. Not a power source.
