Aem timing is the exact value ecu is estimated.
So aem is exactly what u set it to and will fire at whatever value you put in.

I think the timing can vary between stock ECU vs. AEM EMS. I would start with much lower number timing numbers, start to add timing until you see knock, and then back off. That’s what I would do. But I don't think the value will be the same.

The value doesnt vary that much from ECUflash to AEM. Even if it does a little its only a few tenths. We have put lights on both and verified the timing via AEM and EvoScan. The main thing is having to think in terms other than load (ECUflash) and in either KPa or Psi with the AEM. With the advent of SD on the stock ECU it makes it even easier to compare what the timing numbers need to be versus an actual pressure value.
For instance, Lucas' car on the stock computer and the AEM are very very similar in the timing map at a given boost value. Our Head fabricator TJ's 61mm stock ECU/speed density map is very close to what I see in AEM cars.

We have also compared DSMlink and AEM and you really can compare numbers with that and see that they dont vary much.

How much lower on the timing in AEM over my ECU Flash timing map do u think is safe to run on the AEM?? You think i can go 1 degrees less everywhere and be safe?? Thanks for some clarity BTW!
