is accessport stage 2 ok with these mods or will my car run funny?

i recently got an accessport for really cheap and the stage 2 map says just turboback exhaust.

i have a catless turboback, o2 housing, ported exhaust manifold and air filter in right now.

will my car run ok until i get my protune or will it screw up?

My car runs fine with turboback exhaust, K&N filter, and perrin intercooler and upgraded piping.

Unless the o2 housing and ported manifold dramatically change the airflow, my guess is that it'd be okay. Cobb seems to have built in a fair amount of safety in the non protune default setup, probably just for reasons like this.

I ran the stg2 with the following mods: ams ic, ams lower and upper piping, catless o2 housing back, and cobb intake without any issues but as soon as I added the O2 housing I started hitting fuel cut at around 5k rpms. Car wouldn't hold boost, sometimes it would spike to 24psi and hit fuel cut. Finally got it protuned after a week of those issues. You might have problems or you might not but for me the O2 housing did it!

I would say yeah as long as you keep your mods as close as possible to what cobb reccomends for whatever stg you run.

The 'off the shelf Maps" that are available on the COBB website are configured for specific hardware. If your configuration falls outside of this specific hardware you may or may not have an issue like eljefe had happen.

In all honesty, unless you can afford the ProTune at the same time as the AP, I would either buy the AP first (fine for factory cars up to stage 2) and then bolt on (recommended hardware for the OTS maps), or bolt on (the reccomended hardware - TBE, intake filter and anything else you might want) and then get the AP and at that time hopefully you can afford for it to be tuned correctly for your mods.

Either route, if you intend to combine anything but TBE and intake filter and the AP as your tuning means, you're going to want to have it custom tuned, trust me.

i completely agree! and you'll notice a sizeable difference once you get protuned compared to the off the shelf stage maps.

Also on top or the intake and TBE I was thinking of maybe a high flow manifold and that's it for now as far as bolt ons go. Would I get away with that for now without a custom tune?

Check out TurboTrix, they're in NJ and they're reputeable.

The stock ECU is a rediculously capable ECU.

If you want a ProTune (which is what this thread is essentially about,) you'll need the AP to store and create .ptm's (protune maps.)

The stock ECU is fully tuneable indepent of the AP.

TurboTrix can do either. And they're closest to you, as far as I can tell.

Cantact COBB to get a list of ProTuners in your area, if that's what you're looking for, (maybe there's someone closer than NJ?).

As far as the other stuff goes, with different parts for off the shelf maps, I wouldn't do it to my car. Not even all cars with properly configured hardware, like the OTS maps. Every car has slight variances and require different adjustments, based on their overall condition and assembly. It is most proper to get it custom tuned, whether you get an AP or not.

Also wondering about my mods having issues w/ my AP. I had the stage2 93oct map loaded and my car had idling issues. The RPM's would bounce up and down and then drop so low the car would die. I have:
AEM intake
HKS SSQV
Kometec head gasket
APR head studs
HKS TBE w/ stock cat
new rad and rad piping

quick update. downloaded the newest firmware for the dongle and had a friend help me out with the setup for the stage2 93oct and is running much better. It now idles a little low but then will settle back in around 850rpms. It feels great now. But still looking forward to a protune.
