Is it too cold?

I live in central wisconsin and its freakin cold. I've been getting fuel cut/boost cut, or whatever you want to call it, at about 5000 rpms pretty consistantly and full boost (obviously). I get the overboost/wastegate malfunction engine code most of the time but not always. I have a 05 MR with ams 3" tbe, cobb intake and a bov from a IX MR, the metal one. Im using the Stage2 93 v101 map w/ 93 octane gas with 10% ethanol (A-holes). I got new boost lines from cobb.

I'm wondering if the cold air is causing my problems or the gas or a combination. Would it help if i used the Stage2 91 v101 map and the same gas. or is there something else going on.
Another thing is when the car is under a little boost and i let off the gas a little the bov valve flutters for a couple secs and the car jerks slightly. Is this normal? This happens in the summer too.

It could well be from the cold. There's a thread on this here:
fuel cut issue???

I live in Wisconsin too. My first Evo had a Dynoflash tune. My current one has the Cobb AP. Neither one has ever had this problem. I feel for you.

i was just at cobb getting the wrx tuned and while i was there i grabbed the new vacuum lines. the guy that gave it to me (chris i think) marked the smallest hose coming off the "T" with a paint marker and told me i must make sure that when i install it the marking is facing up. he also told me that if i have any problems with boost (not enough or too much) to give them a call and they will suggest trying different sized restrictor pills depending on what it is doing. i say give them a call and let them know whats going on. they should be able to help you out. good luck.

download the access tuner software (free) and lower your WGDC or raise your fuel cut.
