My Ap Wont Read Ecu
Very frusterating, especially after seeing the video on how easy it is. i have tried everything but the ap keeps coming up with a error message saying it cant read the ecu and to check all plugs and try again. Well i did like 50 times and it still no workie. i looked at the obd dongle and the obd plug and the pins dont look like they align. is this right? i mean the ap powers up so it has to be somewhat right. anyway i put a call into COBB and they are suppose to call me back. I was am just venting and wondering if anyone else had this problem????

You should order the tbe thru www.iapferformance.com....it is probably better just to call stephen the owner and have him hook you up...the last I knew they had free shipping

If the only thing holding you up is free shipping, Buschur Racing's TBE is shipped free. It's cheaper too.

So i did some more playing around with the ap today and come to find out my prgramming is for a subaru not a mitsu. i am currently trying to take care of it through lancershop.com where i bought it but will probably end up exchanging it through cobb.

They're all loud. Even the quiet ones.
Oh, and good to hear you figured out what was wrong.

This is a true statement to some degree----all tbe's at WOT are definitely louder....i do happen to have the cobb tbe with test pipe and only at wot does it get the proverbial "loud"...but it is more in line with how I think it should of sounded to begin with.......but the cobb tbe at idle and cruise is by far hardly more noticeable than it was stock....which for me is good.........I didn't want to be cruising at 30mph and sound like I was blowing thru a tunnel at warp speed

If you look below at what Cobb states (copied from their website) your exhaust is loud, even at idle:
Stock Exhaust
idle - 74dB
SAE - 81dB
COBB DP, COBB Catless Test Pipe, COBB Cat Back
idle - 83dB
SAE - 98dB
That's +9 dB at idle, +17dB SAE
The human ear senses a 10 dB increase as being twice as loud. Yours is loud, my friend.
And this is their catted version, just barely noticeably quieter than the catless:
COBB DP, COBB high flow Catted Test Pipe, COBB Cat back
idle 80dB
SAE 94dB

Yes this is all true. BUt i have looked at videos with the cobb tbe and Buschur and some others. The cobb has a lower tone to it which is what I like. And yes of course at WOT it is loud, but that is to be expected. IF Im at WOT then yes I want people to hear me so they can get out of my way. j/k . I have noticed that with other exhuasts they are higher pitched even at cruising speeds wich i do not enjoy.
