Got new vacuum line from Cobb

I was only peaking at 1.2BAR with the STG2 (CA) map installed when I SHOULD BE AT 1.4BAR!

arghh. I am very aggravated.

Anyway I take out the 2nd restrictor pill of the stock line. No change like some people said there would be.

I call Cobb then, and they're more than happy to send out the new line with the main pill drilled out specially. I was very anxious for it all week. It came yesterday, I installed it this morning.

Now I'm hitting 0.7BAR and holding there. No higher. I reset the ECU and everything, I even went to a professional shop and did a boost leak check but no. My EVO just cant have 1.4 likes its supposed to.

Can somebody please give me an easy solution to this..? I just feel like I spent 700$ on a gadget that can estimate my 0-60/1/4mile times

If it IS by accident the wrong line from Cobb, that sucks a lot, and yes I will still be very upset..If thats the case Cobb better be shipping out the correct line overnight and get it to me Tuesday at the LATEST.

But, I wouldn't expect Cobb to be so stupid as to give me a bum line.

I was there with EvoJedi77 at the shop and during the install. We did everything correctly, and he is losing boost after this new line that is supposed to raise boost.

Very frusturating day for me as well. I've been waiting all week to see this car on the dyno. If Cobb did send you the wrong line, they owe you big time..

I wonder if it has anything to do with that Injen Intake that you have.

All Cobb stages are only for the STOCK, Regular Upgraded Panel Filter, or the COBB Intake.

Intakes do funny things and do not all act the same or have the same inpact on the car....specifically MAF readings etc.

I've seen cobb say a couple of times that their BASE MAPS should only be used with what they have tested and approved in terms of upgraded parts.

Now, Im not saying that is why you're having this issue.........Just my no good $0.02

Good luck.......Im sure COBB will help you get it resolved

It may not be the intake...but you should tell COBB when you talk with them that that is the intake you are running.

Drives: a laptop connected to your ECU.

If the actual OEM pill at the T line, which is the line that connects to the Compressor outlet pipe (the black pipe) was drilled out *larger* then that is why you have only 0.7bar boost. The other hose off the T, with the red marking at the end, connects to the wastegate actuator.

That pill needs to have a *smaller* hole than stock to create more boost.

With all the ecu-controlled boost we do, the OEM pill by the solenoid (the hose going to the bottom nipple on the solenoid) is kept, and we upgrade the turbo side pill (reference above) with a pill with a smaller hose. We obviously also tune the boost maps for this as untuned (or a base map for it) would create an overboost spike before error correction kicks in with the stock boost maps.

We've had an Evo on our dyno with the Injen intake and it seemed to perform ok.

I think you spoke to one of the other sales/tech support guys here and he sent out a smaller restrictor pill and vacuum line yesterday afternoon. It seems odd that your car is under boosting by that much, but we'll see how the car reacts to the smaller pill. I'd still recommend checking your car for boost leaks. We know your car can hold 1.2 bar, but it still may leak when you go beyond those boost levels.

Let us know if anything changes with the new restrictor pill.

Hey Chris, I had a shop do a boost leak check and it turned out fine..

Is there any danger in the new restrictor pill that coming? Like is there a possibility that something could happen and I OVERboost?

Just got the new pill today, installed it. Im spiking at just below 1.4BAR, but I may try adjusting my wastegate to up the boost slightly.

What are the WHP and torque numbers supposed to be for the ACN STG2 reflash..?
