Evolution Dynamics Pikes Peak Build
Back in December, Kevin DuBois of Evolution Dynamics approached me about running the 2012 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Naturally, like any motorsports enthusiast would, I jumped at the opportunity!
As we checked into the specifics. We found out that there were a limited number of entries, and technically, the event is by invite only. By mid-December the entry list appeared to be full already. They were still accepting applications. But there was no guarantee of entry.
Anyway, we went ahead with the application. We were notified shortly after that the event had received an unprecedented amount of entries. And there would be some sort of qualification to be invited. I remained...cautiously optimistic.
This morning, we were officially notified that our entry had been accepted. And that we were officially invited to compete in the 90th annual Pikes Peak International Hill Climb "Race to the Clouds"!!!
I am beyond excited!!!!! This has been a dream of mine since the mid-90's when I 1st read about it in Sport Compact Car.
I grew up driving on the dirt roads of Milford, MI. And always dreamed of being a rally driver. Hence my love for Subaru's and EVO's. Knew it would be a long time before I could come up with the funding for such an effort. So I began Autocrossing in 2004 to work on my car control skills. And have since fallen in love with that sport while the rally dream was put on hold.
This really does present the best of both worlds! While I regret having missed the opportunity to play on the big dirt hill. I have no doubt that even fully paved it will be the experience of a lifetime.
Evolution Dynamics will be providing the vehicle and support for the event. I have every bit of faith in Kevin and team that they will build an excellent car for the class. We expect to receive support from a number of different sponsors and if not, there is always the retirement fund to dip into!
I've started this thread to track progress and also serve as a record of the whole adventure.
So here we are with the car in it's current form! Lots of work to do!

Congrats! That is going to be fun. I'm thinking of going to help a friend in an Audi this year, with the intention on entering next year. I will make sure cheer you guys on. I've been following the updates on the entry situation and its nice to see that Hillclimbing is making a resurection in the motorsports world. I think with the hill being paved, that you are going to see alot of racers coming in to run this hill.

mock up motor in place! custom wiring harness is going to be made with this motor in place along with all the tubular core support brackets can be fit with the engine in place.
also doing some more cage reinforcement, even though the cage meets all the rules for the Time attack class.
