E-Spec tests the MAP Ef4 --- 600hp @30psi!!
Since the previous thread is 15pages long, Cul8tr requested a new thread be started ,,,
( https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...4-evo-8-a.html )
A re-hash on the mods list..
Map EF4 turbo (33psi spike down to 30 psi)
Muse o2 dump
2.4L
GSC s3 cams
Cosworth head ported by headgames
Magnus IM
Full blown tb
fic2150 injectors
e85
E-Spec tuned SD using tephra v7
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JO6q1ZJ3L6s
Some food for thought...
We stopped at this low boost level because the clutch started to let loose on the dyno. On a 36psi spike, the tq was too violent.
This 600hp pull still had rich afr's and room for a few more degrees of timing. There's ALOT left in it. My calculations lead me to believe this car would have cleared 660 -700hp.
300tq @ 3700 rpm means this turbo spools amazing -- the runs were started at 3000 rpms!
The wastegate actuator was flawless... On straight wastegate (26-27psi) the car cleared 550hp...

For you pumpgas guys out there-- This turbo is no joke! -- On straight wastegate and 93 octane -- 500hp @ 26-27psi
All in all, I'm happy to see companies pushing the envelope to make this platform the best.
Thanks for viewing.

I didn't know there were "haters" for or on this product. As anything else, the car community relies on third party testing to confirm results. Time will tell the true story of this unit. I'm sure any of the stock turbo cars in the 10's need only this piece to put them in the 9's. ( Can someone say-- "Marketing Strategy" ---- Dan can be found on Facebook!!! )

proof of what? that its still proving to be a lazy turbo in the spool department?
hasnt proved anything yet to me. yeah its making 300tq by 3800. thats good. but next you have to look how long it takes to make 500tq. what that translates to when you drive the car is very laggy turbo.
call me the biggest hater on the board wont effect my observations one bit. I will still recommend other choices for those who come to me for advice. sorry I am just a straight shooter looking to help others enjoy the hobby as much as I do.

Let's put your definition of "laggy" on a graph so that we can define this term that is widely used. "Laggy" to me is an opinion based on perspective.
This turbo hit 400tq around 4,250rpm starting the pull at 3,000rpm. At what rpm would you consider hitting 400tq not laggy?
Please post a graph (any graph of any torque/hp curve that you like off of these forums) of what you consider "responsive" and let's compare them and put them into perspective.
Hopefully the graph you post will have a boost plot -- at 4,000rpm this turbo hit 33psi on the higher boost setting. I don't have software that can "overlay" 2 pics, but maybe someone else on here does?
