i have it, it looks very good and the sound is aweeeesome, loud as hell, the only downside is that you practically have to change the filter each 4-5k miles along with the oil, but otherwise its purtty and sexy

every test... ever.. for the hks says that its about the worst filtering setup ever.

Its limited to stopping bee's and golf ***** from entering your motor.

older HKS flters yes and that was mainly down to incorrect fitment when changing the filter, you need to make sure there are no gaps, current reloaded ones are excellent
Best kit for the X by far imo, 3" tubing bolts directly to the turbo, no silicone joints, no reducers, just HKS quality....and quality gains too. You can go a step further and fit the Kansai box around it like mine Not had a problem with mine in over 2 years...btw no oiling for this filter....

HKS suction kit reloaded

HKS Kansai air box

MarkM -- Take off your hot side IC piping or intake and look at all the crap caked it. The sponge filter still screams fail.

seems to be rather expensive for an intake imo.

You must have one of a kind then. No other test, anywhere, has ever proven it to be worth more then a small rodent catcher.

Id take a perrin, k&n, etc over it any day.

I had a full HKS intake on my last 8. I sold it(gave it away) for $50.. and told the guy I wouldnt run this intake on my lawnmower.

Over priced bling garbage.

I have one installed on my 9 since February 2010. Changed the filter once so far. No issues.

the question isnt if there is an "issue" -- more so the filters capability or quality is what is under question.
