CVT Transmission "Slow down" Warning?

Engine: 4B11
Mileage: 14000km

when driving at the speed of 210 km, "Slow down" Warning appear on screen until slow down.... slow down to 0km and then just disappears!!

My question is, does this warning mean bad things coming soon, like destroy my CVT?
What should I do about this?

Any help would be appreciated
regards

probably just means your cvt fluid was heating up to max temperatures...

Could be that the tranny is overheating because at that speed i would assume you are on a very high rpm.. why in the world are you doing at 210 km/h? I believe that is almost about 120+mph..

lancer0220 is right, operating your car at that speed will raise the temp of everything. CVT fluid would take longer but its going to start cooking your internals. If you do that hard driving often, i would think about changing your CVT fluid and engine oil alot more often.

I assume you are tracking this car, if thats the case, you should consider a very large transmission cooler.

it means you brought your fluid and transmission into a temperature range that is not recommended. You reduce the life of the fluid greatly when you do this. I highly recommend you consider changing your fluid at the severe change interval.

To put this in perspective. high temps in the transmission isnt that easy to do, there is alot of fluid in there and most of the parts doing the work are submerged in fluid all the time. if you had that warning come up. it means you were seriously running it hard.

dont replace it with Automatic fluid. ONLY USE approved MITSUBISHI CVT fluid. Another brand which is ok is the ENEOS CVT fluid. Dont use Auto or Manual fluid, or your transmission will be dead in a few minutes.

I have got my fluid hot before and you could smell it burning just by driving through the canyon in sport mode doing tons of shifting. I have never got that warning. Maybe the tranny could take a lot more abuse then what I do to it? Who know.

No one knows how long the CVT transmissions last, especially this one. With regular maintenance and NOT overheating it, then a long time... Take it easy on your car, if you beat it up expect it to break, but don't expect mitsu to cover it under warranty due to abuse!

you gotta remember that the CVT tranny can be weak, as other have stated
You dont want to push it too far to the max, or you might be needing to replace it soon
